About Queen City Tennis Club
The Queen City Tennis Club (QCTC) is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of tennis among gays, lesbians, bisexual, transgendered and questioning individuals in the Charlotte region. While our focus is to provide a welcoming place for LGBTQ tennis players to enjoy the sport of tennis, we welcome everyone. Those under 18 must obtain the signed consent of a legal guardian.
QCTC Mission Objectives
* Provide a safe place for GLBT people to gather and play tennis
* Engage in weekly, social tennis play
* Host social events throughout the year
* Encourage participation in USTA and GLTA tournaments
QCTC has organized play on reserved courts every Saturday from 10 AM - 12 PM from April through October at Jeff Adams Tennis Center at Renaissance Park. Due to scheduled tournaments at Jeff Adams, some Saturdays we'll be at Veteran's Park. See the Tennis Calendar on Events page to find out the correct location each Saturday. Many members schedule more informal matches throughout the week. Members also participate in various USTA and Gay and Lesbian Tennis Alliance (GLTA) tournaments and leagues throughout the year.
Besides tennis, the club organizes some social functions. Members typically go out to lunch as a group after tennis. Other popular events have included holiday parties, cookouts, Grand Slam viewing parties, hiking, bowling, and bar nights.
Most of all, we just have a lot of fun!
